Old Post Farm Registered Nigerian Dwarf Goats

Picture
We raise our registered Nigerian Dwarf goats as beloved pets as well as productive dairy animals. Our small herd is well-loved and cared for. Our girls (and boys) are friendly, happy, and healthy. They come from great milking lines including NC PromisedLand, Old Mountain Farm, and Sugar Moon. We are members of the American Dairy Goat Association and hope to participate in performance improvement programs as we become more experienced. Our ADGA herd name is Sugar Maple, an homage to the beautiful maple trees on our property and the delicious syrup we produce! Our herd tested negative for CAE, CL, and Johne's in May 2020 and June 2018.

Doe kids are available for sale at $300 with ADGA registration paperwork. Wether kids and pet quality does are available for sale at $125 without registration. Buck kids are available at $150 with ADGA registration paperwork.

ADGA Jake's Way Neopolitan (Buck)

Neo was born in 2017 to Birch Ridge Farm AM Rambo (Dragonfly IH Aonghas Mac OG x Old Mountain Farm HK Ginny) out of Birch Ridge Farm Mae B (NC Promisedland Moon Mullican x Sugar Moon UP Prima Donna). He has been a wonderful herd sire here for the past 4 years and is ready to find a new herd to service! He's proven himself to throw beautiful colors/patterns (cou clair, buckskin, Swiss, gold, white, black, with lots of white overlays). He has kids all over New England including a few at Lumnah Acres - you can see them featured on their YouTube channel. He's calm, gentle, and safe even with my toddler (never leave your kids unsupervised with livestock of course!) He has small scurs that fall off after their grow more than an inch or so, have never caused a problem. He has tested negative for CAE, CL, and Johne's in 2020 and 2018. He's up to date on CDT and rabies vaccines, selenium and copper boluses, and routine maintenance. More info: Neo's page on our site, his ADGA genetics link, and his progeny list. We would love to see Neo go to a new home along with his brother, Rocky Road, who is a wether. Bucks need a companion (we won't sell him unless you have a companion for him or take Rocky), and they're been together since birth. Neo and Rocky together are $225, Neo separately is $200, and Rocky separately is $100.

ADGA Sugar Maple Millie (Doe)

Millie was born April 17, 2020, out of Birch Ridge Farm VL Lyrica by Jake's Way Neopolitan. She is one of quads (2M, 2F) and was dam-raised, so she's more independent rather than cuddly, but she won't turn down a treat from a stranger! She has gorgeous markings and a lot of milk in her pedigree. She's disbudded and is black and tan Swiss marked with white including poll and flank markings. She loves treats - peanuts are her favorite, but she's not picky! She'll be ready to be bred this year if you'd like milk (and kids) this fall or next spring! She's ADGA registered for $300.

ADGA Sugar Maple Rusty (Doe)

Rusty was born May 21, 2020, out of Birch Ridge Farm P Ash by Jake's Way Neopolitan. She is one of triplets (2M, 1F) and is dark buckskin with white markings giving her a beautiful mix of shades of chocolate and cream. She's got a little white smudge on the side of her nose and one brown toe on her front hoof - too cute! I love her look and personality but have no room in my barn! Rusty looooves bananas and is very calm and chill, just like her mama. She's got great length and overall conformation if you're looking for a show goat! She'll be ready to be bred this year if you'd like milk (and kids) this fall or next spring! She's disbudded and ADGA registered for $300

Non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to reserve your goat. Goats will be available to go home at 8-12 weeks of age once they are weaned and eating hay and grain. Rarely we may have a bottle baby available to go sooner to experienced homes only, or an adult doe or buck. Goats are herd animals and must go in pairs (or greater) unless you have similarly aged goats at home already. Our kids are typically dam-raised with daily handling and socialization. Kids will be disbudded (unless naturally polled), wethered if they are male (unless otherwise discussed), vaccinated with CDT, treated with coccidia prevention, dewormed, and tattooed. Goats being sold with ADGA registration will come with appropriate forms - registration and/or transfer fees are the responsibility of the buyer. We do not offer transport - you must pick up your goats on the agreed-upon date at our farm. All goats will be healthy at the time they are sold, but no further guarantees can be made. All sales are final for biosecurity reasons.
