Old Post Farm Registered Nigerian Dwarf Goats
We raise our registered Nigerian Dwarf goats as beloved pets as well as productive dairy animals. Our small herd is well-loved and cared for. Our girls (and boys) are friendly, happy, and healthy. They come from great milking lines including NC PromisedLand, Old Mountain Farm, and Sugar Moon. We are members of the American Dairy Goat Association and hope to participate in performance improvement programs as we become more experienced. Our ADGA herd name is Sugar Maple, an homage to the beautiful maple trees on our property and the delicious syrup we produce! Our herd tested negative for CAE, CL, and Johne's in May 2020 and June 2018.
Spring 2018 saw our first kids on the ground, and we've made the tough decision to make 2022-2023 our last breeding season, stepping back temporarily for a few years to focus on our family! Our Wethers
These little stinks are "useless" as my husband says, but they've got a permanent place in our barn and in our hearts anyway!
Leopold
Leo is Lyrica and Neo's son, born in 2021. He's a bit aloof and has always reminded me of our former herd queen, Lyrica, his dam.
Nibbles
Nibbles is the son of Magnolia and Mansfield, born in 2022. He has his name for a reason - you can't be near him without your clothes being nibbled on. He's also an escape artist and spends most of his time free-ranging - he is the reason we cannot have garden flowers... but we love this little trouble-maker anyway!
